She and Hershel Pippin were married on Dec. 24, 1943, at Hammond. She continued to live on the family farm after her husband died, hunting and fishing, and raising a garden every year. She was a member of Barron Fork Church of Christ, which her dad helped to build. Mrs. Pippin is survived by one daughter, Joyce McGill and husband, Ron, of Fordland; one son, Donald Pippen and wife, Julie, of Gainesville; five grandchildren, Kelly Pippin, Timothy Pippin, Billy Pippin, Jeremy Kolaks, and Josh Kolaks; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alvis Thomas of Souder and Alvin Thomas of Wasola; two sisters, Elsie James of Ozark and Gay Burke of Raymore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel; her parents; and six brothers and sisters, Archie Thomas, Elve Hill, Stella Frazier, Bonnie Thomas, Lena High, and Alton Thomas.
