In January 1857 she was married to Charles D. Stewart deceased, and in January, 1876, she married Joseph H.Benson. Was the mother of eight children, four of them deceased. She was a dutiful mother and a faithful christian. She has been ailing for years and September 3d she commenced bleeding from the lungs: was sick twelve weeks and bore everything with patience. After she knew that she must go, her only wish seemed to be and she said: don't weep after me, for it will be better for me.

Benjamin Robert Briggs, Sr., died. until the early part of 1969 when she
moved to Los Angeles, California, presumably to reside near her son who
was living near Alameda, California at that time. She died in a nursing
home just a few months after arriving in Los Angeles, California.
