She had suffered a stroke last Friday and had remained in a coma since that time. She was born in Coshocton County, Ohio, the daughter of Urias and Elizabeth Ann (UTTERBACK) FOSTER. Her husband, Frank DOWDEN, preceded her in death a number of years ago. To this union was born five children, three of whom survive. They are Ben H. DOWDEN, Clay City; James Roscoe DOWDEN and Shirley W. DOWDEN, both of Bloomfield. Charles DOWDEN and Mary DOWDEN, other children are deceased. Her second husband, William L. STAFFORD, also preceded her in death. To this union was born a son, Albert L. STAFFORD, who survives. Besides the children, Mrs. STAFFORD is survived by a sister, Mrs. Cloe ALEXANDER, of Bloomfield. Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Wesleyan Methodist Church with the Rev. J. K. COLE officiating. Burial was in Grandview Cemetery. Born June 13, 1887 in Pleasant Township, she was a daughter of John and Zoe (Hull) Hemry. She was married to James R. Stafford Dec. 10, 1910 and he died Feb. 10, 1965. Surviving are seven children, Wayne, of McComb, Don, of Seattle, Wash., and Robert, of Dayton; Mrs. Irvin (Dorothy) Conine, and Mrs. Lloyd (Carol) Weeks, Findlay, Mrs. Chester (Mary) Wedge, Fostoria and Mrs. Harold (Zoe Ann) French, Greenbelt, Md. There are 20 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and a brother, Fred Hemry, Los Angeles, Calif. Mrs. Stafford was a member of the Blue Star Mothers and of McComb Church of Christ. Services will be held at the Hartley Funeral HOme at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow, the Rev. John Manges officiating. Burial will be in McComb Cemetery. Wood of Beaver Falls; Ray F., of Eastdale, [Eastville] and John R., of Meadville; and by two sisters, Mrs. E.E. Stebbins of Akron, Ohio, and Miss Edna M. Stafford of Meadville. She was born in County Carlow, Ireland, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Ashmore. In 1916 she became the wife of Harold Kidd. The marriage took place at St. Anne's Church o f Ireland, after which she came to Burritt's Rapids where she has lived ever since.
