Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home. Mrs. Sorrels was born June 10, 1925 in Sour Lake, Texas to Theodore and Jessie (Stafford) Chachere. She graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1942. She married Herman Calvert Sorrels, Jr. on March 19, 1947 in Corpus Christi; he preceded her in death October 8, 2000. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Cisco and an associate member of St. James United Methodist Church of Abilene. She is survived by daughters, Marie Blair and husband Neal of Rock Port, Sherry Wright and husband Billy of Cisco; brothers, T.W. Chachere and wife Eva of Portland, Jack Chachere and wife Helen of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; sister, Dorothy Daughtery of Houston; sister-in-law, Ethel Duarante and husband Hank of Anaheim, California; grandchildren, Laura Lea Lanier of Portland, Sherry Marie Pottinger and husband Jeff of Rock Port, Ann Marie Williams and husband Ryan of Farwell, ReBecca Lea Heidelberg and husband Brad of Midland; great-grandchildren, Devin Neal Lanier, Aaron Luke Lanier, Katelyn Eliane Hicks, Alexis Diane Pottinger, and Erica Grace Williams. Since 1930, Mrs. Stafford has made her home with her daughter here. Survivors besides Mrs. Martin are two sons, J.L. Stafford and T.R. Stafford, of Dayton, Tennessee.
