117242 | Thomas Peter Stafford was born about 1718 in Beaufort County, NC, the son of John Stafford II and his wife, Mary. Thomas Peter married Maria around 1741. Her maiden name is unknown. They had five children born in North Carolina. Later, around 1767, they moved to Georgia into that portion of St. Phillips Parish which later became Franklin County, and later was included in Bullock County when it was organized in 1796. Thomas Peter Stafford served on the juries of Bullock County and Bryan County. In Deed Book A, page 104, Bullock County, 1801, Thomas Peter Stafford is selling 150 acres to Feliz Geiger. This land in St. Phillips Parish was granted in June 1760 to John Stafford I, and left to Thomas Peter Stafford by the will of John Stafford II. No record of the will has been found. John Stafford II was the father of Thomas Peter Stafford. In Deed Book A, page 104, Bullock County also is found John Stafford III, son of Thomas Peter Stafford and his wife Maria selling a portion of the original grant made to John Stafford I in 1760 and left by John Stafford II in his will to Thomas Peter Stafford. Thomas Peter Stafford appears as serving on the jury in Bryan County eight times between 1798 and 1808. In 1806, Thomas Peter Stafford and his wife, Maria, sold land in Bryan County, and then in 1808 they bought land in Liberty County, Georgia. No record is found for Thomas Peter Stafford and his wife, Maria's death. They had the following children: Ann, born about 1742 who married Israel Robeson Bird on March 4, 1768; Joshua, born about 1743 who married Margaret Ironmonger in September 1767; John, born about 1745 who married Savannah Evans, May 26, 1768; Dinah, born about 1747 who married Sylvanus Bird on March 4, 1768; married 2nd time to James Bullock in 1788; Mary, born about 1749 to Elijah Sodlift on November 23, 1773.
