Stafford, who passed away on August 17, 1965. Bertha and Norris owned and operated several theaters in Michigan and Bertha also served the Reed City area as Justice of the Peace for many years. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Reed City. She is survived by her daughter Sally O'Brien of Rochester Hills, son Jeffrey (Diana) Stafford of Beaver Falls, PA and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Born June 16, 1911, at Camp Dix, Ky., a daughter of the late Fred Young and Roberta Howard Young, she was a retired cook for the Lewis County (Ky.) School Board and a member of the Blankenship Church of Christ in Christian Union at Camp Dix.
Preceded in death by her husband, John Stafford, Sept. 7, 1992, she is survived by three sons, Arthur Stafford of Vanceburg Route 1, John E. Stafford of Aberdeen and Allan Stafford of Sarasota, Fla.; three daughters, Berta Pesano and Carol Trembley, both of Sarasota, and Delores Wireman of Lima; two brothers, Bruce Young of Camp Dix and Fred Young Jr. of Vanceburg; two sisters, Irene Shuey of Lima and Emma Jordan of Vanceburg; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and George Young; a sister, Dorthy Word; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg, with the Rev. Carolos Rhoades officiating, and interment in Lewis County Memory Gardens. Born November 1, 1935, in Elliott County, and was the daughter of the late Zora and Ina Howard Stafford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Clifford Jent and Phillip Jent; one grandson, Clifton Ray Jent; two brothers, Woody Stafford and Marvin Stafford; four sisters, Nora Lee Stafford, Lucille Stafford, Sylvia Butler, and Ruth Perry; and a special nephew, Arville Junior Perry.
Her husband of nearly 60 years, William Ervin Jent, whom she married June 6, 1953, passed away February 6, 2013.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Jent and wife Pam and Jackie Jent and wife Janie, all of Morehead; four daughters, Linda Reed and husband Bill of Clearfield, Kay Lewis Rosser and husband Mike of Flemingsburg, Brenda Stanley of Morehead, and Cathy Pennington of Sandy Hook; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Bessie was a homemaker and was a former cook at Eagle’s Nest, Dixie Grill, and Lee’s Chicken.
She was a member of the Elliottville Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, eating spicy food, spending time with family and friends, and especially having cookouts at the cave.
Due to the COVID-19 regulations set forth by the Governor, a private family visitation and service will be held Thursday, May 7, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with Pastor Tim Rhodes and Pastor Willie Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow at Jent Cemetery.

She was a member of the Elliottville Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, eating spicy food, spending time with family and friends, and especially having cookouts at the cave.

Bessie Jewell Stafford Jent, age 84, of Cold Springs Hollow Road, Morehead, passed away Monday, May 4, 2020, at her home.

Born November 1, 1935, in Elliott County, and was the daughter of the late Zora and Ina Howard Stafford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Clifford Jent and Phillip Jent; one grandson, Clifton Ray Jent; two brothers, Woody Stafford and Marvin Stafford; four sisters, Nora Lee Stafford, Lucille Stafford, Sylvia Butler, and Ruth Perry; and a special nephew, Arville Junior Perry.
Her husband of nearly 60 years, William Ervin Jent, whom she married June 6, 1953, passed away February 6, 2013.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Jent and wife Pam and Jackie Jent and wife Janie, all of Morehead; four daughters, Linda Reed and husband Bill of Clearfield, Kay Lewis Rosser and husband Mike of Flemingsburg, Brenda Stanley of Morehead, and Cathy Pennington of Sandy Hook; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Bessie Mae White Wyatt Stafford, 84, of Newton and formerly of Statesville, passed away, Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Maple Leaf of Statesville.
Ms. Stafford was born March 9, 1929 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late James Claude White and Clara Carrington White. She attended Iredell County schools and worked in Manufacturing before retiring as a cook. She was a member of East First Street Baptist Church in Newton, NC and was first married to the late James Richard Wyatt and later married the late Avery J. Stafford.
Ms. Stafford is survived by one daughter, Betty W. Privette (Van) of Harmony, two sons, Steve Wyatt (Brenda) of Statesville, David Lee Wyatt (Terri) of Statesville, one daughter-in-law, Pat Wyatt of Statesville, 14 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, one brother, one sister and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James Ray Wyatt, one daughter, Rita Faye Wyatt Fesperman, one granddaughter, Angela Wyatt, one great grandson, Nicholas Wyatt and two brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2013 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Allen McCoy officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Victory Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born March 10, 1910 in Wythe County, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Dilmer Dalton and Luvena Dalton Dalton. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Estil (Manila) Dalton of Pulaski and Mrs. C.D. (Maggie) Mabry of Herndon; three sisters, Mrs. Wyatt (Mary) Gardner, Mrs. Lawrence (Lena) Stockner and Mrs. Annie Wright all of Hillsville, and six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday, May 2 at 11 a.m. from the Thornspring United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hagan McClellan officiating. Interment will follow in the Thornspring Cemetery, Pulaski. Betty Redfield, 97, passed away March 18, 2010 at the Cortland Care Center. Betty was born in the Cortland area and lived here all her life. She was one of nine children born to Anna and Clarence Stafford. Betty was married in 1930 to Robert T. Redfield and was widowed 39 yrs. She was active for many years at the Homer Ave. Methodist Church and was a member of the Willing Workers. She also belonged to King's Daughters. Betty traveled to Hawaii, California, Texas, Florida, Canada, and many other places with the Willa Mae travel group. She lived in her own home until age 94, and then moved to the Elizabeth Brewster House in Homer. Her final residence was the Cortland Care Center. She is survived by her daughters Roberta (David) Robinson of Homer NY, Barbara (Frank) Elges of Pagaso Springs CO, four grandchildren Susan, Steve, John, and Lisa, ten great grandchildren, sister Eleanor Randall of Florida, sister in law Lois Stafford of Cortland, dear friend Sally White of Cortland. A family graveside service will be held Monday 1 pm at the Scott Union Cemetery, Scott, NY.
