///
Some day all doubt and mystery
Will be made clear;
The threatening clouds which we see
Will disappear.
///
Some day what seems a punishment
And brings us pain,
Will prove to be Gods' blessing sent
For every gain.
///
Some day our weary feet will rest
In sweet content.
And we will know how we were blest
By what was sent.
///
And looking back with clearer eyes
O'er life's short span,
Will see with wondering, glad surprise
God's perfect plan.
///
And knowing that the path he went
Was God's own way,
We'll understand His wise intent
Some day, some day.

104139 Obituary read: "After many long weeks of suffering, Mrs. A. N. Hendrix passed away Tuesday evening at her country home, three miles east of this city. For more than a year she had been in very poor health, and for thirteen weeks before her death, she could not leave the bed. Everything known to medical science was enlisted in her fight for life, and she was given every comfort that a loving husband and children could administer, but her time had come, and death relieved her of her suffering.

She was born near Newtown, in this county, on October 23, 1853 and lived her entire life in this county. She was 56 years, 7 months, and 8 days of age when she died. She was married to A. N. Hendrix, one of the substantial farmers of the county on November 11, 1874, and four children were born to them, all of whom survive her. They are, Mrs. Jones Yerkes, of Wabash Township, Mrs. Ross DeHaven and Mrs. Myron Gardner, both of whom reside on farms east of this city, and Guy, the only son who lives at home.
Mrs. Hendrix was a most estimable and excellent woman. She was loved by all who knew her. Before sickness came upon her, she was very active in church and social circles. She was a consistent Christian woman, and practiced the teaching of Christianity in all her daily life. Her loss is keenly felt, and the sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved husband and children.

104149 OBITUARY--STAFFORD
Died, at his home northeast of Woodstock, on Wednesday, Nov 23, 1892, J.P. Stafford, in the 77th year of his age.
Jacob P. Stafford was born in the state of New York, Otseka county, Jan 2, 1816. He was married Dec. 25, 1839 to Sarah A. Smith, who still survives him.
During 53 years of married life Mr. and Mrs. Stafford have walked side by side and borne the burdens of life together. Besides the wife, four daughters mourn a father's loss, Mrs. R A. Johnson, of Seneca, Mrs. David Duffield, of Abingdon, Ill., Mrs. Ralph Bush, of McHenry, and Mrs. M.E. Hitchcock, of Woodstock.
Mr. Stafford and wife and two daughters moved to Illinois in 1854 and settled in Seneca, near Franklinville where he lived until about seven years ago when he rented his farm and moved to Woodstock. He was among the earliest settlers of the county and until his health failed him was a hard-working and industrious farmer.
Deceased was in usual health and was reading the following "poem" from the weekly Inter Ocean of Nov 17, when the messenger came:
AS THE YEARS ROLL ON
As the years roll on,
As the years roll on,
Oh, they closer cleave together
As the years roll on.

Though the union of this couple,
has endured for fifty years,
Through all life's strage vicissitudes,
their trials, smiles and tears,
though oft their sun was clouded o'ver,
When hope seemed nearly gone,
Yet they love each other better
As the years roll on.

As the years roll on,
As the years roll on,
they grow dearer to each other
As the years roll on.

O'er half a century ago
John told the old, old story,
So often said, yet always new,
To beauty in her glory,
and then she blushed and turned her head,
Nor dared to say "I'm won,"
And their courting days continue
As the years roll on.

As the years roll on,
As the years roll on,
Oh, they closer grow, and dearer,
As the years roll on.

Oh, glorious is the summer sun
When sinking in the West,
And glorious are declining years,
Blessing and being blessed
And glorious are the hopes of two
whom love has made but one!
While they near the better country
As the years roll on.

As the years roll on,
As the years roll on,
They get nearer to the Father
As the years roll on.
The funeral services were held from this late home last week Friday, the Rev. F.R.. McNamer officiating, and the remains were laid at rest in Oakland cemetery.
