Hilda Stafford was born August 26, 1907 in Bridgeport Township, the daughter of the late Walter and Alma Phelps Stafford. She attended elementary school in Bridgeport Township and graduated from Flint Central High School. She received a Bachelor's Degree in 1952 and her Master's Degree in 1954, both from Central Michigan University. Hilda Brickel was employed by the Buena Vista Township Schools for 25 years. She served as teacher at Star School and as principal at Ricker Elementary School and Henry Doeer School, retiring in 1973. As a parent and as a teacher, she was active in the Michigan Parent Teacher Association, having served as Michigan District President and in many local offices. The daughter of the late John and Stella (Szuba) Bula. Mary was born August 25, 1913 in New Baden, Illinois coming to Saginaw in 1933 and moving to Lake Orion in 1988. She was married to Merritt Stafford on May 19, 1966. He predeceased her October 30, 1988. Mary was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion and St. Jude League.
