Funeral services for Mr. Luke L. Scott, 74, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2003, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro.

Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Jackson County with Bro. Comer McGuire officiating.

Mr. Scott died Monday, November 3 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a farmer and a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church in Rickman.

Born June 7, 1929, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Faye and Fannie Mae (Moss) Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Carmack, George Warren, Edward Scott, and Winters Scott; and four sisters, Mamie Scott, Edna Lockhart, Opal Lockhart, and Nannie Scott.

Survivors include a son, Rickey Scott of Cookeville; a daughter, Rebecca Phipps and her husband, Gary, of Rickman; four brothers, Elmer Scott, Billy Scott, George Scott, and John Scott; two sisters, Bonnie Scott and Thelma Rogers; two grandchildren, Joshua Scott and Kevin Brown; and three great grandchildren, Kayla Scott, Joshua Brown, and Sierra Brown.

Travis Steve Gore was born on May 30, 1919 in Caldwell Parish to the union of Hildred Gore and Oneida Franklin Gore. Travis was a World War II Veteran of the U S Army and a 1940 graduate of Northwestern State University. Travis spent all of his life involved in banking, first with Citizens Progressive Bank in Columbia, and later with Concordia Bank and Trust Company. He was a very civic minded individual and will truly be missed by the Miss Lou community.

Mr. Gore is survived by his wife: Nigel Gore, two sons: Lyman Gore and wife Janis, and Brent Gore and wife Jo Lynn. Daughter : Kay Savant and husband Robbie. Five grandchildren: Michael Gore, Jason Gore, Carol Loy, Josh Loy, Heath Savant and wife Amber, and Lori Gore. One great grandchild Emily Carol Loy and husband Josh. Funeral services for Mrs. Claudia S. Post were held Friday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial was at Silver Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Post died Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the Madison Parish Hospital. She was 96.
She was born in Winona and had lived in Tallulah for 70 years. She was a retired school teacher of the Madison Parish School System, with 30 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tallulah.
She is survived by one son, Jerome K. "Billy" Post Jr. of Tallulah; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Tommy Leoty Sr., Tommy Leoty Jr., Spencer Sevier, Ted Ivey, I. T. Crothers, Keith Post, Donald B. Lancaster and Mike Davis.

Mrs. Doss died Sunday morning at Beene Nursing home in Hartsville, following a long illness.
She was a native of Sumner County, but she had lived in this county most of her life. Her parents were Newton and Lue Cole Williams.
For 39 years she taught in Macon and Sumner county schools.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Pearl Stanford, wife of Oscar Elmer Stanford, were held on Friday afternoon, May 17, at the Milledgeville Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Burial was in the Milledgeville Cemetery with Casey Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Stanford died at the Hardin County General Hospital on May 15, after suffering a heart attack at her home on May 10. She was a member of the Milledgeville Methodist Church.
Mrs. Stanford was born and reared in Decatur County, and was married to Oscar Stanford in 1913. Since that time they had made their home in the Milledgeville Community where Mr. Stanford farmed.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Otis Rickman, of Milledgeville; one brother, Elise Stafford, of Ft. Worth, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Reba Hughes, of Milledgeville; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Glen, 89, of Green River will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Rogan mortuary chapel. The Rev. Fred Plocher of Union Congregational church of Green River will conduct the rites and burial will be in Mountain View cemetery in Rock Springs.

Friends who will serve as pallbearers will be Carl Moedl and Luke Harrigan, both of Green River; Ray and Ralph Mitwalsky, both of Saratoga, and Robert Anderson and John Taylor Sr., both of Rock Springs.
Mrs. Glen died Thursday in Sweetwater Memorial hospital after a one-day hospitalization. When she became slightly ill, she was brought to the home of her son, John Stafford, in Rock Springs only a few days before her death.
Mrs. Glen was born Mary Anderson Nov. 23, 1872, in Lonaconing, Md. She came to Rock Springs in 1906 and lived here until 20 years ago, when she moved to Green River.
Her first husband, Alex Stafford died in 1893. Later she was married to Robert Glen, who also preceded her in death.
In addition to her son, John Stafford, she is survived by two other sons, Alex Stafford of Arbuckle, Calif. and William A. Glen of San Diego, Calif., and a daughter, Mrs. J.C. (Mary) Glen of Del Ray Beach, Fla. All members of her immediate family are in the city for the services.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one brother, Robert A. Anderson of Green River, and a sister, Mrs. Gilbert Morton of Cheyenne.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nolen Stafford, age 61, were held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Lincoln Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. Charles Jones. Burial was in the Lincoln Cemetery.

Mrs. Stafford, the former Agnes Wolaver, died early Sunday morning at the Mid-State Hospital, Nashville. She was born in Lincoln County, but for many years had made her home in Nashville, where she was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Centennial State Hospital. She was a member of the Lincoln Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Nolen Stafford; one son, Wayne Stafford of Lincoln County; four sisters, Mrs. Roy Sweeney and Mrs. Charles Cannon, both of Fayetteville, Mrs. Nell Rutledge of Nashville, and Mrs. Beatrice Stafford of Huntsville; four brothers, Gordon Wolaver, Murphy Wolaver, Rogers Wolaver, and Billy Wolaver, all of Lincoln County; two grandchildren, Benny Wayne Stafford and Terri Gene Stafford.

In her younger years, she loved being with her large family and growing up with nieces and nephews that were not much younger than her; they were all playmates. She even made dresses for her niece's weddings. She loved her extended family and always kept up to date with what her nieces and nephews were doing, as well as great nieces and nephews.

In 1964, Naeomia completed LPN school and began her life-long career caring for others as a nurse. She worked for just over 20 years at Jackson County hospital in Gainesboro TN. She also spent many years providing care to people in their homes. She was an excellent nurse and was so thankful for the gifts of caring that God gave her.

She was a member of the Allons church of Christ.

In 1964, Naeomia completed LPN school and began her life-long career caring for others as a nurse. She worked for just over 20 years at Jackson County hospital in Gainesboro TN. She also spent many years providing care to people in their homes. She was an excellent nurse and was so thankful for the gifts of caring that God gave her.

She was a member of the Allons church of Christ.

She is survived by two daughters: Frances Bishop (Kevin) of Oneida, TN and Joanna Stafford of Allons, TN; 3 Grandsons: Levi Bishop of Knoxville, TN, William Bishop of Oneida, TN and Joseph Stafford of Allons, TN; 1 sister Adarene Lane of Orlando, FL; 1 sister-in –law Sadie Maynord of Allons, TN; Special friends Sadie Smith and Sara Wyatt; 9 special nephews and 13 special nieces as well as many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 Brothers: Dennis, Doward, Don, and Robert Maynord and sister Lexie Jones, as well as her former husband Bobby Joe Stafford of Gainesboro.

Pallbearers for the service will be Manyord Nephews Danny, Dwain, John Pat and Jimmy as well as grandson William Bishop and family friend Chris Vanling. Honorary pallbearers will be Manyord Nephews Ronnie, Alan Wayne, Rick and Eric as well as grandson Joseph Stafford.

Funeral services for Owen Lillard Bates, 48 of Hendersonville, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Shakle Island Church of Christ.
Willie Cato and Dave Hearn will conduct the services and burial will be in Crestview Memorial park, Gallatin. The body is at Cole & Garret funeral home, Gallatin.
Mr. Bates, who died Sunday night of a kidney ailment, was a native of Gallatin. He was the son of M. C. Bates and the late Nannie Bates. Except for a few years in Wilson county while he was of school age, Mr. Bates lived in the Gallatin-Hendersonville are all his life.
In 1931 he was married to the former Miss Maggie Ethel Stafford of Sumner county. Mrs. Bates survives.
Mr. Bates had worked as a service station attendant until he became ill about three years ago. Since then, he had operated a country store near Hendersonville.
Survivors in addition to his father and his widow include two daughters, Mrs. Noel Martin and Miss Nancy Bates; three brothers, H. E. Bates of Hendersonville, L. C. Bates of New York city, and Robert Bates of Goodlettsville; three sisters, Mrs. Earl Harris, Mrs. Otis Fakes, both of Lebanon and Mrs. R. O. Davis of Brandon, Fla., and three grandchildren.
